This glossary defines the terms that the Products documentation uses. Each entry lists the UI labels that the term covers and links to the section of Concepts that explains it.

A

Alias

A name that identifies a pricing preset among the pricing presets of a product. See Pricing presets.

B

Billable metric

A measurable quantity that Zenskar calculates from usage events, such as the number of API calls in a month. See Metered usage.

C

Combination

A set of dimension values that has exactly one value for each dimension. See Combinations: one value of each dimension.

Combination price

The price, with its own pricing model, that the dimensional pricing model charges for one combination. See Combination prices: a pricing model for each combination.

Credits product subtype

The subtype of products that provide credits or units of a custom currency, such as $100 in platform credits. See Credits product subtype.

D

Default pricing preset

The pricing preset that Zenskar marks as the default for a product in one currency. See Pricing presets.

Dimension

An attribute of usage by which the dimensional pricing model sets separate prices. See Dimensions and dimension values: what usage varies by.

Dimension value

One value of a dimension. See Dimensions and dimension values: what usage varies by.

Dimensional pricing model

The pricing model that charges each combination of dimension values with its own price. See Dimensional pricing model: a price for each combination.

E

Exclusive tier boundary

The tier boundary that moves a quantity equal to the upper limit of a tier to the next tier. See Tier boundary: where an upper limit falls.

F

Fallback price

The price, with its own pricing model, that the dimensional pricing model charges for usage that matches no combination price. See Fallback price: usage without a combination price.

I

Inclusive tier boundary

The tier boundary that keeps a quantity equal to the upper limit of a tier in that tier. See Tier boundary: where an upper limit falls.

M

Metered usage

Usage that a billable metric measures for a pricing preset. See Metered usage.

O

On-demand quantity strategy

A quantity strategy that treats each measured use as a separate consumption at the moment it occurs. See Metered usage.

On/off product subtype

The subtype of services that are either enabled or disabled, such as priority support. See On/off product subtype.

P

Partial-period handling

The rule that decides how Zenskar charges, under the recurring quantity strategy, for a quantity that starts partway through a period: in proportion to the time used, or in full. See Metered usage.

Per-unit pricing model

The pricing model that charges the same price for every unit. See Per-unit pricing model: the same price for every unit.

Percent pricing model

The pricing model that charges a percentage of the quantity. See Percent pricing model: a share of an amount.

Period ratio

The length of a billing period divided by the length of its pricing period. See Period-of-time products: a price for each pricing period.

Period-of-time product type

The type of products that the customer consumes over a period of time, such as a seat for a month. See Period-of-time product type.

Point-in-time product type

The type of products that the customer consumes at one moment, such as an API call or a generated report. See Point-in-time product type.

Pricing model

The method that a pricing preset uses to calculate an amount from a quantity. See Pricing models: how an amount is calculated.

Pricing period

The length of time that the amount of a pricing preset covers, such as one month. See Pricing presets.

Pricing-preset ID

The identifier that Zenskar assigns to a pricing preset when you create it. See Pricing presets.

The identifier that Zenskar assigns to a product when you create it. See Products: what you sell.

Product status

The lifecycle state of a product: active, inactive, or archived. See Products: what you sell.

Product type

The classification of a product by when the customer consumes it: at one moment, or over a period of time. See Product types.

Q

Quantity product subtype

The subtype of products whose usage is measured as a number of units, such as 100 API calls or 5 seats. See Quantity product subtype.

Quantity strategy

The rule that decides how Zenskar treats the measured quantity of a pricing preset: as separate consumptions that occur over time, or as a standing allocation that lasts until it changes. See Metered usage.

R

Recurring quantity strategy

A quantity strategy that treats the measured quantity as an allocation that stays in place until it changes, such as a number of seats. See Metered usage.

S

SKU

An identifier that you assign to a product to track it in your inventory or in external systems. See Products: what you sell.

T
