Pricing presets

Add Price panel

Add Price on the product page opens the Add Price panel. The panel title is Add Price to, followed by the product name. The same fields appear in the pricing-preset step of the Add a Product panel. If you click outside the panel, Zenskar asks you to confirm before it closes.

Common fields

Pricing Model	Yes	Per Unit	The pricing model: Per Unit, Percent, Volume, Tiered, or Dimensional. Selecting another pricing model replaces the fields of the previous one with empty fields.

Percent fields

PERCENTAGE OF AMOUNT	Yes	`0`	The percentage of the quantity, such as `2.9`. It must be from 0 to 100.

Volume and tiered fields

Tier boundary	Volume only	Inclusive	Inclusive: a quantity equal to the upper bound of a tier stays in that tier (`≤`). Exclusive: it moves to the next tier (`<`). The tiered pricing model always behaves as Inclusive.
Tier table	Yes	One tier from `0` to ∞ with price `0`	Columns From, To, and Prices. From of the first tier is `0`. To is read-only and shows the upper bound that the next tier’s From sets. The last tier has no upper bound (∞). Each price must be 0 or greater.
Add Tier	No	None	Adds a tier. The previous last tier gets an upper bound 100 above the previous bound.
Remove icon	No	None	Removes a tier. The table keeps at least one tier.
Tier Reset Period	Point-in-time products	Monthly	How often the count starts again from the first tier. Same options as Pricing Period.
Pricing Period	Period-of-time products	Monthly	See Pricing Period.

Dimensional fields

DIMENSIONS	Yes	One empty row	Each row has a Dimension name, such as `region`, and Values, such as `US`. Press Enter to add a value. Click a value to remove it. The delete icon removes a dimension. At least one dimension with at least one value.
Add dimension	No	None	Adds a dimension. Up to 4 dimensions.
Combination count	Not applicable	None	The number of combinations of values. Up to 625.
Table of prices	Yes	None	One row for each combination, with a column for each dimension and a Price column. Appears after a dimension has a name and a value. When the table is empty, it shows “No prices yet. Add one per combination.”
Add price	No	None	Adds a row for one combination that has no price. Disabled when every combination has a price.
Add uncovered prices	No	None	Adds a row for each combination that has no price. Shows the number of such combinations.
Edit, Done	No	None	Opens and closes the editor of a row. The editor has Select dimension values and a Pricing Model of Per Unit, Percent, Volume, or Tiered, with its fields.
Remove	No	None	Deletes a row.
Fallback price	No	Cleared	When selected, sets a pricing model and fields for usage that matches no row. When cleared, the panel shows “Unmatched usage is listed at zero, not dropped”.
Pricing Period	Period-of-time products only	Monthly	Applies to every row. See Pricing Period.

Dimension names must differ from each other, and the values of a dimension must differ from each other. Zenskar ignores case and leading and trailing spaces when it compares them. Each combination can have only one row. A value cannot be *.

The pricing period applies to period-of-time products. Tier Reset Period uses the same options.

Metered-usage fields

Field	Required	Default	Details
Usage is metered	No	Cleared	Turns on metered usage. Clearing it also clears the fields below.
Meter	When Usage is metered is selected	None	The billable metric. Search by name.
Quantity Strategy	When Usage is metered is selected	On Demand	On Demand: “Usage is tracked and billed as it occurs”. Recurring: “Usage is billed on a recurring schedule”. See quantity strategy.
Partial Period Handling	When Quantity Strategy is Recurring	Prorate	Prorate: “Charge only for the portion of the period used”. Charge Full: “Charge the full amount regardless of when usage started”. See partial-period handling.

Buttons and messages

Button	Action
← Back	In the Add Price panel, closes the panel without saving. In the Add a Product panel, returns to the product step.
Save	Creates the pricing preset.

Message	Meaning
”Price created successfully”	Zenskar created the pricing preset.
”Failed to create price”	Zenskar did not create the pricing preset. The message shows the reason.

A pricing preset cannot change after you save it.

Pricing-preset card

Each pricing preset has a card under Prices on the product page.

Element	Description
Summary	The amount for the per-unit pricing model, such as `$20.00`. “N% of amount” for the percent pricing model. “N tiers” for the volume and tiered pricing models. “N cells” for the dimensional pricing model.
Currency tag	The currency, such as USD.
Pricing-model tag	The pricing model, such as Volume.
Copy Pricing ID	Copies the pricing-preset ID to the clipboard, and then shows Copied.
Default	Shown on the default pricing preset of each currency.
Prices	The amounts, the percentage, the tiers, or the dimensions and rows of the pricing model.
Cadence	The pricing period. Shown for period-of-time products.
Tier Reset Period	The tier-reset period. Shown for the volume and tiered pricing models on point-in-time products.
Quantity Strategy	On Demand or Recurring. Shown when the pricing preset has metered usage.
Source	Metered, with the billable metric. Shown when the pricing preset has metered usage.
Partial Period	Prorate or Full. Shown for the recurring quantity strategy.
More Details, Less Details	Shows and hides Alias and Unit. Shown only when the pricing preset has an alias or its own unit labels.

Pricing presets that the API creates with billing settings can also show Billing Cadence, Payment Timing, and related fields.

Permissions

Action	Required permissions in the roles UI

The default Owner role has every permission. The default User role has read permissions only. No permission allows a change to a pricing preset after you create it.
