Products page

The Products page lists the products of your organization. To open it, go to Products.

Controls

Control	Description
Search by name	Finds products whose name contains the text that you enter. The search ignores case. Selecting a result opens the product page.
Create Product	Opens the Add a Product panel. The keyboard shortcut is `N`.
Filter	Adds a filter to the list. See Filters.

Columns

Subtype	The product subtype, such as Quantity.	No
Tax Category	The name of the tax category, with its code below the name, or ”-” if the product has none.	Yes

Created On	The date when the product was created.	Yes

Click a sortable column header once to sort in ascending order, twice to sort in descending order, and a third time to remove the sorting. When no product matches, the list shows “No products found”.

Filters

Feature in the Subtype filter is the on/off product subtype. After you set a filter, click Apply Filter. To remove all filters, click Clear All Filters.

Add a Product panel

Create Product opens the Add a Product panel. The panel has two steps: the product details, and the first pricing preset. If you click outside the panel, Zenskar asks you to confirm before it closes.

Product step

Field	Required	Default	Details
Name	Yes	None	The name of the product, visible to customers. It must be unique in your organization, and the comparison is case sensitive.
Tax Category	No	None	A tax category from Tax configuration. The list shows the name and the code of each tax category. When the field is empty, the panel shows: “Tax category is required for automated tax calculation. Without it, the product is treated as non-taxable or handled outside Zenskar.”
ADD DESCRIPTION	No	None	Opens a text field for the description. The description is visible to customers on invoices, at checkout, and in the customer portal.
Product Type	Yes	Point in Time	Point in Time or Period of Time. Cannot change after you create the product.
Subtype	Yes	Quantity	Quantity. Credits or Custom Currency (point in time) and On/Off (period of time) are coming soon and cannot be selected. Cannot change after you create the product.
Unit, marked Singular	No	None	The singular unit label, such as `call`. Under Additional info (SKU, Unit). Zenskar saves the unit labels only when this field is set.
Unit, marked Plural	No	The singular form followed by “s”	The plural unit label, such as `calls`. Under Additional info (SKU, Unit).
SKU	No	None	The SKU. Under Additional info (SKU, Unit). It must be unique among the products of your organization that are not deleted.

Button	Action
Cancel	Closes the panel without saving.
Next →	Checks the fields and moves to the pricing-preset step.

Pricing-preset step

The panel title changes to Add price to, followed by the product name. The fields are the same as in the Add Price panel. See Add Price panel.

Button	Action
← Back	Returns to the product step. Zenskar keeps the values of both steps.
Save	Creates the product, and then the pricing preset.

Message	Meaning
”Product and price created successfully”	Zenskar created the product and the pricing preset.
”Failed to create price”	Zenskar did not create the product, or created the product but not the pricing preset. The message shows the reason.

After Zenskar creates the product but not the pricing preset, ← Back shows Edit Product with the buttons Close and Add Price →. Changes to the product step there are not saved.

Product page

The product page opens when you click a product in the Products list.

Element	Description
Product name	The name of the product.
Status tag	The product status: ACTIVE, INACTIVE, or ARCHIVED.
Done	Returns to the previous page, usually the Products list.

Product Information card

Field	Description
Type and subtype chips	The product type, such as Period of Time, and the product subtype, such as Quantity.
Product ID	The product ID. Copy Product ID copies it to the clipboard and then shows Copied.
Product Name	The name of the product.
Description	The description, or ”-” if the product has none.
SKU	The SKU, or ”-” if the product has none.
Tax Category	The name of the tax category, or ”-” if the product has none. The name links to Settings > Tax Configuration. A tooltip shows “Avalara code:” followed by the Avalara tax code of the tax category, or ”-”.
Unit (Singular), Unit (Plural)	The unit labels. Shown only when the product has unit labels.
Edit	Opens the edit panel. See Edit product panel.

Prices section

Element	Description
Prices	The list of the pricing presets of the product, with the description “Price presets associated with this product.” Each pricing preset has a card. See Pricing-preset card.
Add Price	Opens the Add Price panel. Shown when the product has at least one pricing preset.
”No pricing found”	Shown when the product has no pricing preset, with the text “Add pricing presets to define how this product is charged.” and an Add Price button.

The list loads 10 pricing presets at a time, and loads more as you scroll.

Edit product panel

Edit on the product page opens the edit panel. The panel title is Edit, followed by the product name. If you click outside the panel, Zenskar asks you to confirm before it closes.

Field	Details
Name	Required. It must be unique in your organization.
Tax Category	Optional. Clear the field to remove the tax category.
Description	Optional. Clear the text to remove the description.
Unit, marked Singular and Plural	Optional. Under Additional info (SKU, Unit). Clear the singular form to remove the unit labels.
SKU	Optional. Under Additional info (SKU, Unit). It must be unique among the products of your organization that are not deleted.

The panel does not show Product Type or Subtype. These cannot change after you create the product.

Button	Action
Cancel	Closes the panel without saving.
Save	Saves the changes. If no field changed, the panel closes without a change.

Message	Meaning
”Product updated successfully”	Zenskar saved the changes.
”Failed to update product”	Zenskar did not save the changes. The message shows the reason, such as a name or SKU that another product uses.

Permissions

Action	Required permissions in the roles UI
View products and the product page	Can Read Product, in the PRODUCT group
See the pricing presets of a product	Can Read Product, and Can Read Product Pricing in the PRODUCT_PRICING group
Create a product	Can Read Product and Can Create Product, plus Can Read Product Pricing and Can Create Product Pricing for its first pricing preset
Edit a product	Can Read Product and Can Update Product
Delete a product (API only)	Can Read Product and Can Delete Product

The default Owner role has every permission. The default User role has read permissions only. A custom role can grant the create, update, and delete permissions.
