View a pricing preset

See the settings of a pricing preset, and copy its pricing-preset ID.

Prerequisites

  • You need a role with the Can Read Product and Can Read Product Pricing permissions. For details, see Permissions.

Read the pricing-preset card

  1. Open the product page. For steps, see View a product.
  2. Under Prices, find the card of the pricing preset.
The top of the card shows a summary, the currency, and the pricing model. The summary is the amount for the per-unit pricing model, the percentage for the percent pricing model, the number of tiers for the volume and tiered pricing models, and the number of cells for the dimensional pricing model. The default pricing preset of each currency shows Default. The body of the card shows the prices of the pricing model. It also shows the pricing period as Cadence for a period-of-time product, or the tier-reset period as Tier Reset Period for the volume and tiered pricing models on a point-in-time product. If the pricing preset has metered usage, the card shows Quantity Strategy, Source, and, for the recurring quantity strategy, Partial Period. If the pricing preset has an alias or its own unit labels, click More Details to see them. To hide them again, click Less Details.

Copy the pricing-preset ID

  1. Find the card of the pricing preset.
  2. Click Copy Pricing ID.
The button shows Copied. The pricing-preset ID is on your clipboard.

Add a pricing preset

Add a pricing preset to an existing product, for example to charge in another currency. A pricing preset cannot change after you save it, so check the fields before you save.

Prerequisites

  • You need a role with the Can Create Product Pricing permission, and the Can Read Product and Can Read Product Pricing permissions. For details, see Permissions.
  • To meter usage, the billable metric must exist. To create one, see Billable metrics.

Add the pricing preset

  1. Open the product page. For steps, see View a product.
  2. Under Prices, click Add Price. If the product has no pricing preset, the page shows “No pricing found”, with its own Add Price button. The panel shows Add Price to, followed by the product name.
  3. In Pricing Model, select a pricing model.
  4. In Currency, select the currency.
  5. Set the fields of the pricing model:
  6. Optional: meter usage for the pricing preset.
  7. Click Save.
Zenskar shows “Price created successfully”. The new pricing preset appears under Prices. If it is the first pricing preset of the product in its currency, it becomes the default pricing preset and shows Default. If Zenskar shows “Failed to create price”, the reason names the problem. Correct the field, and click Save again. To close the panel without saving, click ← Back.

Set up the per-unit pricing model

Set a fixed amount for each unit. For how the per-unit pricing model calculates an amount, see Per unit.

Prerequisites

Set the amount and the pricing period

  1. In PRICE PER UNIT, enter the amount for one unit, such as 20. The amount must be 0 or greater.
  2. If the product uses the period-of-time product type, set the pricing period in Pricing Period:
    • Select Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, or Annual.
    • Or select Custom, enter a number in Every, and select Day, Month, or Year in Cadence.
Pricing Period appears only for products that use the period-of-time product type. Monthly is the default.

Set up the percent pricing model

Charge a percentage of the quantity, such as 2.9% of the value of each transaction. For how the percent pricing model calculates an amount, see Percent.

Prerequisites

Set the percentage and the pricing period

  1. In PERCENTAGE OF AMOUNT, enter the percentage, such as 2.9. The percentage must be from 0 to 100.

Set up the volume or tiered pricing model

Set tiers of quantity, each with its own price per unit. With the volume pricing model, the total quantity selects one tier, and every unit is charged at the price of that tier. With the tiered pricing model, each tier charges only the units within it. For details, see Volume and Tiered.

Prerequisites

Set the tiers

  1. For the volume pricing model only, in Tier boundary, select how a quantity that equals the upper bound of a tier is charged:
    • Inclusive: the quantity stays in that tier. This is the default.
    • Exclusive: the quantity moves to the next tier.
The tiered pricing model has no Tier boundary field. It always keeps a quantity that equals the upper bound in that tier.
  2. The table starts with one tier, from 0 to ∞. To add a tier, click Add Tier. The new tier becomes the last tier, which has no upper bound.
  3. In the From field of each tier after the first, enter the quantity where the tier starts. The To field of the previous tier shows the matching upper bound, such as ≤ 10,000.
  4. In the price field of each tier, enter the price per unit. The price must be 0 or greater.
  5. To remove a tier, click its remove icon. The table keeps at least one tier.
  6. Set the period of the tiers:
    • If the product uses the point-in-time product type, select how often the count starts again from the first tier in Tier Reset Period. Monthly is the default.
    • If the product uses the period-of-time product type, set the pricing period in Pricing Period. Monthly is the default.
Both fields offer Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, Annual, and Custom. For Custom, enter a number in Every, and select Day, Month, or Year in Cadence.

Set up the dimensional pricing model

Charge a separate price for each combination of usage attributes, such as region and channel. For how the dimensional pricing model calculates an amount, see Dimensional.

Prerequisites

Define the dimensions

  1. Under DIMENSIONS, in the Dimension field of the first row, enter a name, such as region.
  2. In the Values field of the same row, enter a value, such as US, and press Enter. Repeat for each value.
  3. To add another dimension, click Add dimension, and repeat the previous steps for the new row.
  4. To remove a value, click it. To remove a dimension, click its delete icon.
A pricing preset can have up to 4 dimensions. Below the dimensions, the panel shows the number of combinations of values. The limit is 625 combinations. Each dimension needs a different name, and the values of a dimension must differ from each other. Zenskar ignores case and leading and trailing spaces when it compares names and values. For example, Region and region count as the same name.

Set a price for each combination

The table of prices appears after a dimension has a name and a value.
  1. Add rows to the table:
    • To add one row, click Add price. The row gets a combination that has no price yet.
    • To add a row for every combination without a price, click Add uncovered prices. The button shows the number of such combinations.
  2. In a row, click Edit.
  3. Under Select dimension values, select a value for each dimension.
  4. In Pricing Model, select Per Unit, Percent, Volume, or Tiered, and set its fields:
  5. Click Done.
  6. Repeat for each row. To delete a row, click Remove.
Each combination can have only one row. On a period-of-time product, the rows have no Pricing Period field. The pricing period of the whole pricing preset applies to every row.

Set the fallback price and the pricing period

  1. Optional: select Fallback price, and set its pricing model and fields. The fallback price applies to usage that matches no row. Without a fallback price, Zenskar lists such usage at zero.
  2. If the product uses the period-of-time product type, set the pricing period in Pricing Period. Monthly is the default.
