Configuration/user guide

Anrok is a cloud-based platform for calculating and filing sales tax and VAT. Once connected, Zenskar can resolve tax on a price by looking up the Anrok tax category you assign it, the same way the Avalara AvaTax integration resolves tax from an Avalara tax code.

Connect to Anrok

You must have an Anrok account before connecting it to Zenskar.
  1. Go to Integrations > Sales Tax.
  2. Click Connect on the Anrok Tax Connector card.
  3. Enter the credentials from your Anrok account.
  4. Click Connect.

Assign an Anrok tax category to a price

  1. Go to Plans:
    • To a plan: click Configure Features, choose Tax from Add Feature, and set Tax Type to Anrok.
    • To a product: click Add Feature in the product’s Features section, choose Tax, and set Tax Type to Anrok.
  2. In Tax Category, pick from the dropdown of categories Anrok returns for your account. This replaces the free-text tax code you’d enter for Avalara, since Anrok classifies items by category rather than a code you type yourself.
  3. Click Save.
If Anrok isn’t connected yet, the Tax Category field shows a prompt to connect it under Settings > Integrations instead of a list of categories. If a price already has a saved category that Anrok stops returning, for example if it was renamed or removed on Anrok’s side, Zenskar keeps showing it in the list labeled as not currently in Anrok, so it isn’t silently dropped the next time you save.

Tax versus Anrok

The Tax feature on a plan or product also supports a manually entered percentage, for when you want to handle tax calculation yourself rather than delegating it to Anrok. Anrok tax categories can also be mapped once per product, from the Anrok connector’s configuration page under Integrations, in its Product Mappings section. Use that when you want the same category to apply automatically wherever the product is priced, rather than setting Tax Category on each price individually.
