# Anrok

## Configuration/user guide

Anrok is a cloud-based platform for calculating and filing sales tax and VAT. Once connected, Zenskar can resolve tax for a country by delegating to Anrok, using the Anrok Item Code mapped onto each tax category.

## Connect to Anrok

  You must have an Anrok account before connecting it to Zenskar.

1. Go to **Integrations > Sales Tax**.
2. Click **Connect** on the **Anrok Tax Connector** card.
3. Enter the credentials from your Anrok account.
4. Click **Connect**.

## Map an Anrok item code to a tax category

Tax categories are not set on individual prices. Instead, they are mapped once onto a shared tax category from **Settings > Tax Configuration**: open a tax category and fill in its **Anrok Item Code** field, which appears once Anrok is connected. From there:

* Assign that tax category to a product from the product's **Tax Category** field. See [add a product](/docs/20260301/product-modules/products/how-to-guides/add-a-product).
* Set the country's **Tax Engine** to **Anrok** under the business entity's **Countries Serving** tab. See [tax configuration: manage countries a business entity serves](/docs/20260301/product-modules/settings/tax-configuration#manage-countries-a-business-entity-serves).

  A country's tax engine can also be **Zenskar**, where you configure your own jurisdiction-based tax rates instead of delegating to Anrok. See [tax configuration](/docs/20260301/product-modules/settings/tax-configuration) for how to set those rates.

Once a country's tax engine is set to Anrok and a product's tax category is mapped to an Anrok Item Code, invoices billed to that country calculate tax through Anrok automatically at generation time.
