# General settings

## 1. Concepts

### What the General tab shows

**Settings > General** is the default tab when Settings opens. It shows two sections: Profile Details for the signed-in user, and Organization Details for the organization as a whole.

### Profile details

Profile Details shows the signed-in user's own name and email. Nothing in this section can be changed from here.

### Organization details

Organization Details shows the Organization ID, Organization Name, and Accounting Currency, alongside the organization's logo. Of these, only the logo can actually be changed from this tab. The Organization ID and Accounting Currency are permanently fixed, the accounting currency in particular is set once when the organization is created and does not change afterward. The organization name has no edit control on this tab.

## 2. How-to guides

### Open the General tab

Click the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar, and select **Settings**. The General tab opens by default.

### View profile and organization details

Open **Settings > General**. Profile Details shows the signed-in user's name and email. Organization Details shows the Organization ID, Organization Name, and Accounting Currency.

### Change the organization logo

1. Open **Settings > General**.
2. In Organization Details, click **Edit**.
3. Upload a new logo, up to 10 MB, by clicking the upload area or dragging a file onto it.
4. Save.

### Troubleshooting

* **Organization Name has no edit option**: the General tab does not currently support changing the organization name from this page.
* **Accounting Currency cannot be changed**: this value is set once when the organization is created and does not change afterward.
